Job Profile: Head of Operations
1. Role Overview & Persona
We are seeking an Operations Leader to serve as the engine of Brainforge. This role is not just about keeping the lights on; it is about designing, building, and optimizing the machinery that powers our growth. You will be responsible for translating high-level executive vision into actionable workflows across Business Operations, People, and Recruiting.
Who You Are:
- Obsessed with Improvement: You have a natural "curiosity to question" everything. You do not accept "that’s just how we do it" as an answer. You are constantly identifying friction and proposing solutions.
- Autonomous & Proactive: You possess the personal initiative to independently discover problems, leverage the existing team to formulate a plan, and execute with clear funding needs and measurable outcomes.
- An "Internal Customer": You will be the champion and "largest customer" to our internal AI/Platform teams. You will constantly knock on their door asking for new tooling, automations, and reporting to accelerate your work.
- A Friction Remover: Your ultimate goal is to reduce the time demand on the founders and executives. You identify where decisions are getting stuck and build systems to unblock them.
- A Mentor & Multiplier: You take ownership of the team's growth. You will actively lead and mentor the existing Operations staff, providing the structure and coaching they need to evolve from task-doers into autonomous problem solvers.
- An ROI-Driven Owner: You will have access to a budget to drive the business forward, but you treat resources with respect. You unlock funding by presenting clear, documented plans with measurable ROI, ensuring every investment—from tools to events—creates value.
2. Job Description
This role focuses on three core pillars: Business Operations, People Operations, and Recruiting.
Business Operations (BizOps)
- Workflow Architecture: Document, catalog, and socialize core workflows (e.g., Sales, Delivery, Invoicing). Ensure there are no "hidden factories" or undocumented processes.
- Automation & Efficiency: Champion an AI-first culture by identifying cost efficiencies and automating recurring tasks.
- Executive Time Management: Analyze how leadership consumes time and makes decisions. Propose and implement solutions to reduce the "Slack traffic" and decision fatigue for the founders.
- Spend Optimization & Request Management: Continuously audit our governance and tooling stack to find cost savings. Create and manage a standardized program for team members to request new resources, serving as the gatekeeper who evaluates every request against a strict cost-benefit framework before approval.
- Tooling & Governance: Own the management of tooling, licensing, subscriptions, legal coordination, and financial operations.
People Operations (PeopleOps)
