Pubbles is distributed outside the Mac App Store and without an Apple Developer ID (a subscription Apple sells for $99/yr), so macOS will block it on first launch.

If you are installing via DMG

  1. Open the .dmg file you downloaded
  2. Drag Pubbles.app into your Applications folder

  1. Go to your Applications folder and try to open Pubbles
  2. macOS will show a warning. Click Done

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security
  2. Scroll down, you’ll see “Pubbles.app was blocked to protect your Mac”
  3. Click Open Anyway

  1. Click Open Anyway again on the confirmation prompt
  2. Pubbles will launch and appear in your menubar and dock! ✨
