Today is the day. Your friends have talked your ear off about NFTs, and the artwork that resonates with you is an exquisite woman in trendy clothes. Well, we are here to hold your hand; guide you into the digital oasis, and help you start your art collection on OpenSea.

After acquiring Ethereum and setting up your wallet, we get to the fun part.

We are connecting through Metamask (see How to set up a Metamask wallet) for this tutorial. You can use other wallets, and most are just as easy to connect.

Metamask is one of the most accessible Web 3 wallets to use.

When your ETH balance is shown, you are properly connected. I recommend having wrapped ETH (WETH) as well if you want to place offers on any pieces of artwork. You can wrap ETH on Uniswap, and Opensea has a drop-down window to convert it as well (here is an OpenSea support link on how to swap ETH for WETH).

After the wallet is connected, we can now begin our search. Be aware that most established projects should have a verified checkmark. Always make sure there is a check, or if the project is new, find the project discord and look in announcements for the direct link to the collection to avoid scams. For this tutorial, we are just going over the basics of perusing Avatar NFTs. Each image has a set number of randomized traits. For World of Women, there are 11 primary traits, and each trait has an additional subset; for example, there are 28 different eye traits. Pick attributes that resonate with you, as this is now your online persona! Once you found the WoW NFT of your dreams, you can use the "buy it now" feature if it is listed. If the one you most desire is not listed, you can place an offer in Wrapped Ethereum (WETH) and see if the owner is willing to part with it. The bid can’t be a low ball offer, either; it isn't easy letting go of your NFTs, as you’ll soon realize!
