What

An open source version of Coinbase’s Index Fund.

Why

Coinbase released their Index Fund in March. However, it is restricted to accredited investors only and has a high 2% annual management fee. The goal of this project is to give anyone the ability to have an index of all assets listed on Coinbase Pro with lower fees.

Learnings

• There are still a lot of improvements to make in available tools for crypto investing.
• There’s still a lot to explore in automated trading tools too.
• Coinbase moves fast, they’ve already implemented something like this in their main product.

Update

Coinbase has now shut down their index fund. However, this code can still be used to run your own with some modifications. I am no longer actively maintaining it though.
