How do we want to engage with our community through these channels?

How can we as an org support the narrative of local dev communities?

How do we get non-tech practitioners to invest in our brand as we engage with community?

I wanted to follow up on a thread I mentioned last week around community gatherings and events.
Given that we are making a big push to connect maximize Tech Practitioner representation in the local tech ecosystem:
- Build a movement:
- We want to increase representation of Technology Practitioners in social impact circles, and grow the Civic Technology niche within Miami Tech.
- We will do this by laying the groundwork for a unified of technology practitioners interested in supporting social impact projects.
- "Movement Building" Opportunities:
- OpenGovernmentHour.
- This is our prototype podcast which we released as part of the Justice Discovery Initiative.
- Since we are shifting our aim less toward non profits and government this may be an opportunity to rebrand it and make it a platform for local Tech Practitioners.
- We can produce episodes biweekly with guests from individual communities focused on how we can drive existing technology interests toward the social innovation and social impact fields.
- Monthly Community Gatherings/General Meetings
- We put a pause on Open Hack Night because it has difficult for retention, but if we can shift our content in these meetings I think we could do so much more.
- Might be less of a meeting, but more of a stream...but either way each one of our developer communities/personas should have some sort of representation/figurehead during broadcasts, depending on the topic or content.
- Unconferences
- Given COVID, it has become easier than ever to gather a bunch of people and host seminars, workshops, and conferences online.
- We have two major dates to organize a large conference:
- Format could be in break out rooms or a continuous stream. Example:
