A lot of folks have been curious about what contribution People Analytics brings to the table.

On a fundamental level, there are three broad areas of contribution:

  1. Identify existing people related problems in the Organisation

  2. Predict problems that may arise in due course of business wrt people

  3. Aid business operations and growth with solutions to 1 + 2 above.

'Point 3' is the fundamental KRA for any set of activities you do for analysing people related problems. A lot of folks get caught up on solving for point 2, but unless you identify the problems first and tie it with business plans, any predictions may end up becoming fanciful only.
