What are the ‘Off the Record’ workshops?

A peer-to-peer way for journalists to get up to speed on the crypto topic of the day.

They are a series of educational workshops designed to help journalists rapidly understand a coverage area with the help of other journalists and independent researchers. ACJR will make a special effort to reach journalists who don’t cover cryptocurrencies on a daily basis.

The first Off the Record workshop took place on April 9, 2021 and had over 50 registrations from the New York Times, CNBC, The Street, USA Today, Decrypt, CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph, The Block and more.

Are they recorded?

No! They really are off the record. You must attend live and abide by Chatham House rules.

What happens at Off the Record?

We get a reporter or researcher who covers the topic to give a short talk, and then we open up the rest of the session for Q&A with a panel of journalists and researchers who know the topic deeply.

Can I underwrite Off the Record?

Yes. You should get in touch with [email protected] or ping one of the officers in the Telegram.
