If your license was issued less than 2 years ago please send an email to [email protected] and let us know the month and year you first got your driver's license.

<aside> ‼️ Driving behavior is monitored and can lead to your membership being revoked. Remember to treat the vehicle as if it was your own. Hard acceleration, hard braking, speeding, and not wearing a seatbelt are just some of the things can lead to suspension or revocation.

If you're an Oberlin College & Conservatory student you can sign up through the app by choosing "Oberlin College Student" from the dropdown menu. The other option is for Oberlin residents.
The advantage to signing up through this group, which requires your @oberlin.edu email address, is that you won't have to separately submit a picture of your student ID. There may also be student-only specials in the future.
Drivers between 18 and 22 years old must meet the following requirements, which are described in the Terms of Service:
This basically means you need a completely clean driving record - no accidents, speeding tickets, etc. - and must have had your license for at least two years. We order a copy of your Motor Vehicle Record from the state DMV where your license was issued. At this time we can only accept licenses from US states (not territories) and some Canadian provinces.
Oberlin EV Carshare is funded by the City of Oberlin and Oberlin College and therefore signing up is limited to Oberlin residents and students at Oberlin College & Conservatory. If you don't sign up using your @oberlin.edu email address we will ask you to send a photo of your student ID.
