GETTING STARTED

Introduction

This tutorial will walk you through getting setup to play on the Orthocraft Minecraft server. You will be installing a third party launcher called Prism Launcher. Because installing the fabric loader and mods with the vanilla Minecraft launcher is too difficult. Using a third party launcher like Prism Launcher makes things much easier.

In this tutorial you will:

  1. Install Prism Launcher
  2. Connect your Minecraft account
  3. Install the pre-made instance zip file with the mods needed for the server.

Installing Prism Launcher

  1. Download Prism Launcher for your operating system and run the installer. Prism Launcher can be downloaded here: https://prismlauncher.org/download/
  2. Run the installer as you would with any other program.
  3. The first time you start Prism Launcher you will have to choose your language and the version of Java. (The minimum version of Java must be 17 to play MInecraft 1.19.)

If you don’t have Java installed or your Java version is too old you can download version 19 for Windows here:

Connecting your Minecraft Account

  1. Click the button on the top right of the main window.
  2. Then Manage Accounts.
  3. On the right of the accounts window you should see several options. Choose the option that fits your account type. i.e. Add Microsoft Add Mojang

Once you follow the steps to setup your account you should be ready to import the Orthocraft instance.

Importing the Orthocraft Instance

  1. Click the Add Instance button on the top left of the main Prism Launcher window.
  2. In the window that opens, select the option to Import from zip
  3. Copy this link: https://cloud.daedalist.net/index.php/s/nKtLMjo2XFDsALc/download/ORTHOCRAFT-POLYMC.zip
  4. Paste the above link where you see http:// in Prism Launcher.
  5. Click OK at the bottom of the window.

You should be ready to double click the instance you just imported and Minecraft will begin to download and run. All the necessary mods are already installed in the instance zip and the URL for the Orthocraft server is there as well.
