Part 1: Public Launch Strategy

1. Positioning statement

"Oro transforms gold into a liquid, internet-native financial asset that's fully backed, yield-bearing, composable, and programmable. For everyday DeFi users, savers, builders, and markets escaping fiat fragility, Oro delivers the next generation of stable, scalable money by offering gold's security without the risks of fiat-pegged stablecoins or the limitations of dead capital."

Why this positioning works:

I wanted Oro’s positioning to be highlighted as more than just another tokenized gold product. It identifies our audience (DeFi users, savers, builders, and markets escaping fiat fragility), pinpoints their pain points (unstable fiat, low trust in stablecoins), and offers a modern solution (liquid, composable, programmable, and yield-generating gold). The phrase “internet-native” hints at scale, while “dead capital” highlights a common frustration with traditional gold and many tokenized assets because they hold value but don’t create value.

2. Messaging angles

Oro sits at the intersection of DeFi, fintech, builders, and macro narratives. These four messaging angles will guide how we frame Oro to different early adopters. Each angle is tailored to a key audience segment and the specific value Oro offers them.

i. Gold That Grows

Narrative: Most gold just sits in vaults or wallets. With Oro, gold grows safely, sustainably, and globally. stGOLD earns 3–5% APY through real-world leasing. Finally, a way to put gold to work.

Target audience: Yield seekers, DeFi users, fintech partners, ethical savers

Strategic rationale: This angle addresses the “dead capital” problem by reframing Oro as the first gold utility token with real yield and a tool for building long-term wealth.

ii. Build with Gold

Narrative: More than just another tokenized gold product, Oro is the infrastructure layer for gold-native apps. With modular APIs, composable smart contracts, and real-world utility, Oro lets developers build savings apps, fintech platforms, wallets, credit systems, and more—all backed by programmable gold.

Target audience: Developers, DeFi builders, fintech startups, neobanks

Strategic rationale: Builders need rails. This angle positions Oro as a platform, not just a product. It opens up long-term partnerships, integrations, and ecosystem growth that compound over time.

iii. Anti-Dollar

Narrative: In a world of depegging stablecoins and inflationary currencies, Oro offers programmable gold as a stable, censorship-resistant alternative. Backed by physical gold, redeemable on demand, and immune to fiat risks.

Target audience: Emerging market users, macro-aware investors, stablecoin skeptics

Strategic rationale: This angle speaks to global instability and distrust in traditional finance. It positions Oro as a superior form of money: stable, sovereign, and yield-generating.
