📃 Incorporation and Law

Incorporation and legal issues can be incredibly complicated (and expensive) for any founder to navigate, but thankfully, we have a number of trusted longtime partners and highly rated resources for all of your startup's legal needs!

• Stripe Atlas is another partner for incorporation, issuing initial stock, etc. and does NOT require at least one founder to be a US Citizen. Our referral gives you $250 off from the $500 price
• Clerky is one final option for incorporation, initial stock issuances, and even to issue legal documentation such as NDAs, helping you manage your legal documentation as a company
• Presidio (fka Mayfield Venture Law)* is a legal team with extensive experience regarding startup law, including general corporate, financings, and intellectual property

  • Gusto for general payroll and management of benefits such as health insurance and 401K
  • Rippling is another general payroll provider with integrations for providers around employee benefits
  • Deel for globally distributed teams. They can handle both international contractors and employer of record services
  • Remote is another option for managing globally distributed teams
• Cap Table Management:
  • Carta for equity management. As the market leader, Carta offers a lot of functionality around cap tables and adjacent services (such as 409As and Option exercises).
  • Pulley is another option for equity management, with a very powerful modeling tool if you'd like to model out a future priced round to see how SAFEs will convert.
  • Captable.io is another free to use equity management software, from LTSE
• Internal finances:
  • Pilot for bookkeeping
  • Vouch for business insurance (quick and easy to fill out)
  • Quickbooks for accounting with a myriad of integrations
  • MainStreet for tax credits
  • Ramp* for corporate credit cards and powerful management of spend
  • Brex* for corporate credit cards, while also having an option to bundle with banking through Brex Cash.
  • Expensify, divvy, teampay for expense management
• Banking:
  • Mercury for a whole kit of tools for efficient online banking, with low or no fees for domestic and international transactions.
  • First Republic Bank is known for their incredible customer service and high NPS score. Also a popular choice among startups.
  • Silicon Valley Bank has helped fund more than 30,000 start-ups. SVB is on the list of largest banks in the United States, and is the biggest bank in Silicon Valley based on local deposits.
  • Bridge Bank is a strong partner both in banking and in financing services, such as debt financing needs for early stage startups.
  • Levro can help international founders get a US bank account quickly, as well as specialize in currency exchange.
