BERG LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Nudge AI mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Onboarding Responses: During setup, we ask about your estimated daily screen time, age range, focus-difficulty selection (easy / medium / hard), and how you heard about Nudge (the "Where did you hear about us?" question). This information is used to calculate personalized impact statistics and to personalize your subscription experience. It is stored locally on your device and a subset is forwarded to our analytics and paywall providers as described in Section 4.
• Focus Intentions: When you start a Task Mode focus session, you describe what you want to accomplish (e.g., "Reply to DMs"). This text is stored locally and sent to our AI provider for analysis during your session.
• App Selection: You choose which apps to monitor and block. The list of selected apps is stored locally on your device using Apple's Family Controls framework (which gives Nudge only opaque app tokens, not human-readable app names).
• Personalization Rules: You may optionally configure custom AI rules (e.g., "always allow"), per-app preferences, and your social media handles (used to help the AI recognize your own content during focus sessions). This information is stored locally on your device and is included in requests to our AI provider during Task Mode sessions.
• Custom Shield Images (Optional): If you upload a custom image to appear on the shield screen, the image is stored locally on your device only.

Information Collected Automatically

• Screen Content During Task Mode Sessions: When you start a Task Mode focus session and enable screen broadcasting, screenshots of your screen are captured at regular intervals. These screenshots are:
  • Compressed and resized before transmission to reduce data usage
  • Sent to our AI provider for real-time analysis
  • Used solely to determine whether your screen activity matches your stated intention
  • NOT stored by Nudge AI — they exist in memory only during the analysis of each captured frame and are released immediately afterward
  • NOT retained by our AI provider — we use Google Vertex AI with zero data retention configured
• Usage Statistics: We track your focus session duration and usage time locally on your device to manage subscription limits and display progress.
• Session Events: We log session start/end times, distraction counts, the AI's most recent verdict reason text (used to display on the shield screen), and time limits locally for app functionality. These are not transmitted to BERG LLC.
• Install Attribution (Apple Search Ads): If you install Nudge AI in response to an Apple Search Ads campaign, we receive campaign-level attribution data from Apple (such as campaign and keyword identifiers and the country of install). We use this data to measure marketing effectiveness and forward it as user attributes to our analytics and paywall providers. No personally identifying information is included.
• Analytics Events: We use Firebase Analytics to collect product-usage data about how users interact with the App, including subscription and onboarding events, feature engagement, and — for three specific in-app events listed in Section 4 — the display name of the app you have selected (e.g., "Instagram", "TikTok"). Firebase Analytics does not receive your focus intention text, screen content, or precise location. See Section 4 for details on Firebase data handling.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect Apple's IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers)
