I intend to express the interest I have through the medium of a website interface. As I discovered through my literature review, crowdsourcing projects commonly generate more expressive results when engaged with large audiences. As such, having an easily accessible medium that can be experienced by people worldwide would serve beneficial, compared to other offline methods that would limit the scale of the results.

r/place is a crowdsourced project on Reddit that lets people add one pixel at a time to a 1000x1000 canvas in real-time, resulting in a unique relationship among players while generating an art piece. This concept displays the essence of my thesis, as it creates a collaborative space that connects people through a dynamic medium.

The biggest challenge I foreshadow is server-side/backend programming. This is a subject that I’ve only had minimal experience with but I foreshadow it to be a fundamental part of the project's framework.

I typically have advisor calls early in the morning, matched with capstone sessions late at night, often on the same day so this is something that makes maintaining on track with my research challenging at times. I also am a builder by nature and reading/writing requires me a lot of time when done properly. I still have some ambiguity with certain topics of my research, with crowdsourcing in relation to physical spaces as well.
