Compensation Philosophy

We pulled all available data (both public data and private data) on RD compensation in the United States. In addition, we also worked with a research partner to run a survey of hundreds of RDs across the country on the details of their compensation. This helped us to understand what the all-in (including benefits) average compensation for full-time Registered Dietitians is in the country and ensure we compensate generously.

We want to attract and retain the best Registered Dietitians in the country. To do so, we compensate at the top of the researched range: our pay range is the ~70-90th percentile in the country, and we have generous benefits (see below). This means that, depending on your session rate, at 25 sessions per week (our benchmark for full-time), you will be able to earn ~$70-90K per year in all-in compensation.

Nourish Base Compensation

  1. Per-session rate
    1. This is a flat rate paid bi-weekly for each session that occurs, regardless of the length of the session.
    2. Your session rate will start at $45-$55 per session and then you will receive annual performance-based session raises during your tenure with Nourish (up to $65 per session). Your starting session rate will be automatically calculated by our internal model at the time of your job offer based on your experience. This session rate compensation (including No Show / Late Cancel compensation) is a high hourly rate in order to compensate for some administrative time spent outside of session as well.
    3. You will be paid half-session rate for no shows.
  2. No Show / Late Cancel Compensation
    1. Nourish has a $75 No Show / Late Cancel (appointments canceled within 24 hours) fee for patients. RDs will have full discretion on a case-by-case basis of whether or not to charge patients this fee or to waive the fee. RDs will be compensated their full session rate if the fee is charged; RDs will not be compensated if the fee is waived.
  3. Patient Referral Bonuses
    1. While Nourish invests significant resources into marketing to help our RDs build their practices, the skill and network of our own RDs are our best form of marketing. In order to reward RDs for this work, RDs will be compensated with bonuses for each patient that they bring in who shows up to at least one appointment with one of our RDs (the RD who brings in the patient does not have to be the one who sees the patient). This patient could be brought in via a number of channels, including friends / family, a social media post, or a referral from another provider.
    2. The referring RD will receive a 25% session rate bonus for any appointments completed with patients they referred to Nourish, or patients referred by external providers that they own the relationship with
  4. New RD Hire Referral Bonus
    1. We are always looking to hire amazing RDs β€” if you refer us to an RD who we end up hiring, you will be paid a one-time bonus of $250 per hire to be paid at the next payroll cycle after the RD has joined Nourish.
