This article describes the absentee notifications that are displayed for nationally moderated tasks such as Assessing Primary Writing and Assessing GCSE English. The article also shows what to do for any absentees on these tasks.

No scans yet?

If you have not yet uploaded any scans to your task, you will see this kind of message:

In this case, you will need to upload the scans of the completed scripts to the task. (See this article for guidance.)

Some candidates without scans

If you have uploaded scans, but there are still some candidates without any scans, you will see this kind of message:

https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/secure.notion-static.com/c8be4f24-bf3c-48d2-bd4e-6544a0dc33a2/Untitled.png

The notification at the top of the page will tell you how many candidates are without scans but not marked as absent. You can see who these candidates are by clicking on the Confirm absentees menu on the left hand side of the screen:

(The names have been removed in the picture but you will see the names of your absentees)

If these candidates were not absent for the assessment then please upload their scans. (See this article for guidance.)

If you have already uploaded their scans and the pages are not being recognised by the system, then please check that the scans have uploaded without problems (information on checking your uploaded scans is here).

Marking candidates as absent

If the candidates were absent for the assessment and you will not have scans to upload for them, then mark them as absent on the system.
