Receiving a TRIANGLE does not establish an employer-employee relationship, nor a partnership, between the grantor (i.e. TRIANGLE) and grantee (i.e. the awardee).

However, the payment of a TRIANGLE award to a grantee by the host institution may confer employee status, which is governed by the relevant employment and training laws and policies in place in the province and at the institution where the TRIANGLE-funded degree, fellowship, faculty position, or summer student job takes place.
