Hey! We're The Peak, a disruptive Canadian media brand that's making business news fun. And we're looking for an Editor to join our team.

This role is remote for anyone in Canada with our HQ located in Downtown Toronto.

About The Peak

Let's face it: Canadian business news can be pretty dull. Before The Peak, Canadian business coverage was dry, complicated and hard for even the most patient reader to get through. But we knew it didn't have to be that way. Canada has some great business stories—they just need to be told in a way that modern business leaders would actually enjoy.

So that's what we did. Through our daily newsletter, we offer an entertaining and informative summary of the biggest business and tech stories that matter to Canadians in an email that only takes 5 minutes to read.

The Role

Over the next year, our goal is to become one of the biggest, most read Canadian media brands.

To achieve that, we're seeking a sharp, entrepreneurial, and creative editor to join our team, focusing on editorial coverage in our daily newsletter, podcast and future products.

In this role, you'll manage our team of writers and creators to produce the most fun and engaging content in Canadian business. Day-to-day you will oversee production of our daily newsletter, read by over 40,000 Canadians, and scripting for our daily podcast.

You will have a major impact on the business and work with the core management team on strategy and development of new business lines.

The ideal candidate will be a have a strong knowledge of trends in Canadian and global business, including tech and finance. You must know how to write great copy (and edit other people's copy to make it great) as well as strong people skills to drive the production process.

In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you'll think about the direction of our core products and offer recommendations to the founding team on how we can improve them. And when we're on a tight deadline, you may have to get your hands dirty and spin up your own byline.
