Telegram: DM with bot vs. channel/group

Think about whether you want to receive all your Smart Alerts in the same private conversation with the NansenBot or receive different alerts in various Telegram channels/groups.

You have 3 options:

• A Telegram DM with the Nansen Telegram Bot - only you can see the alerts, you can send multiple alerts to this conversation.
• A Telegram channel (power-charged version of the WhatsApp Broadcast list) - a medium for one-way broadcast messages.
• A Telegram group - similar to any other chat group where people can interact by sending messages. However, the group admins can restrict messages from members or make the group public or private. They can even make other members admins.

How to set up a Telegram DM with the Nansen Telegram Bot

Step 1. Click on the Nansen Telegram Bot link.

Step 2. Click “Open in Web” or download the Telegram App.

Step 3. Click “Start”.
