MyHomeTab is a Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with a customizable dashboard. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it's used, and how it's stored.

Data Storage

All your settings, quick links, habits, and layout preferences are stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage). This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any server we operate.

Browser Permissions

MyHomeTab requests the following browser permissions:

• Storage — to save your dashboard settings, links, habits, and layout preferences locally on your device.
• Sessions — to display your recently closed tabs so you can quickly reopen them.
• Bookmarks — to allow you to import your existing Chrome bookmarks as quick links. Bookmark data is only read when you explicitly choose to import.

External Services

MyHomeTab connects to the following third-party APIs to provide certain features:

• Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com, geocoding-api.open-meteo.com) — to fetch weather data and resolve location names. Your selected location coordinates are sent to this service. Open-Meteo is a free, open-source weather API that does not require authentication.
• ZenQuotes (zenquotes.io) — to fetch a daily inspirational quote. No personal data is sent with this request.
• Lorem Picsum (picsum.photos) — to fetch random background images when the Unsplash background mode is enabled. No personal data is sent with this request.

Data Collection

MyHomeTab does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising. We have no servers and no user accounts.

Data Sharing

Your data is never shared with any third party. All dashboard data remains in your browser's local storage.

Your Control

You can clear all MyHomeTab data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome. You can also modify or delete individual settings, links, and habits directly within the extension's settings panel.
