Note: we can use a filter to help extract a particular part of a track for sampling, e.g., a low-pass filter, removing most of the vocals, to extract the bass line from a song that has just voice + bass.
You can apply a LFO (low frequency oscillator) to other effects. for example:
LFO applied to pitch = vibrato
LFO applied to volume = tremolo
LFO applied to the cut-off frequency for a low-pass filter = a "wobble" bass sound
