Currently, I work as a UX Specialist at a web hosting company called xneelo. I joined xneelo in Jan 2018 as the UX Lead to formalise UX as discipline within the organisation.
During my time as UX Lead (Jan 2018 → Feb 2020), I helped the UX team grow from a centralised and co-located team of 2 (based in Cape Town), to a decentralised team of 6 embedded in 4 agile product teams (distributed between Cape Town and Vancouver).
After leading the team for 2 years, I've decided to take the next few months to specialise further in my craft and look forward to pushing the boundaries of what I am capable of.
I've always been fascinated by the intersection of design, business and technology - and how all three come together to untangle and solve complex problems. More recently, I'm fascinated by leadership, high-performing teams and developing mental toughness.
I'm currently enrolled in UC San Diego's Interaction Design Specialisation through Coursera, and I plan to enrol in and complete a few other courses when I'm done with this one.
I live in Sea Point with my partner, Vicki, and our 3 rescue cats: Frank, Winchester, and Phoebe. When I'm not working, I'm either working on myself, keeping fit and healthy, exploring Cape Town with Vicki, watching a good movie / series, or making / eating food.
