Before you actually send your files, it’s worth checking each item below once.
You can also paste this checklist directly into your request email and mark what’s completed.
- [ ] I exported all vocal and instrumental tracks in WAV format.
- [ ] I wrote down the project’s sample rate and bit depth as a note.
- [ ] All tracks start at 00:00 and are aligned to the same length through the end of the song.
- [ ] All necessary vocal parts are included (Main, Doubling, Chorus, Pads, Adlibs, etc.).
- [ ] Vocal tracks are prepared primarily as a dry version (effects off), and if needed, I also included a version that keeps my intended tone.
- [ ] I attached the instrumental (inst) file or the instrument stems.
- [ ] I clearly noted any key change (+/-), tempo change, and whether the song structure was edited.
- [ ] I included a rough mix, along with links to reference songs/images/videos if helpful.
- [ ] I attached the lyrics, plus a short note describing the speaker’s emotion and the song’s overall mood.
- [ ] I shared my preferred deadline and a reliable contact channel (email, messenger, etc.) with the engineer.
If you’ve organized things to this level, the engineer can work far more steadily—and immerse themselves in the song much more deeply.
