Mission Statement and Values

The IGDA NYC chapter is committed to being an inclusive, transparent, responsive organization that is active in local affairs and truly represents the interests of our diverse and vibrant community of game developers in the NYC area.

The mission of the IGDA is to advance the careers and enhance the lives of game developers by connecting members with their peers, promoting professional development, and advocating on issues that affect the developer community.

As a chapter, we express that mission and our values at a local level through the following objectives:

Chapter Code of Conduct

IGDA NYC strives to be a safe, inclusive community that welcomes a diversity of views. Healthy, respectful discussion is encouraged, provided it remains civil, professional, and appropriate. We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or any other personal expression. We do not tolerate harassment of members or participants in any form.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; and inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an event organizer, group administrator, or a member of the IGDA NYC Board of Directors immediately.

We expect all members and participants to follow this code of conduct at all IGDA NYC chapter spaces and related events, including our online channels.
