Company mission

Help high-value service companies grow their business by removing as much friction as possible in them having a successful podcast. In doing so, provide enjoyable work to creative people who get to earn a living working on podcasts.

Company values

If these begin to drop, customers and colleagues don’t want to work with us and the company ultimately goes out of business

General Operating Procedures

These are guidelines for how we make decisions in the company

  1. Lean on each other: we’re all here to help
  2. Nip it in the bud: if something is niggling then take action now rather than let it fester
  3. Pay to get short bursts of expert help: an hour speaking with someone who knows a problem intimately is worth more than the time trying to get to a mediocre outcome
  4. Achieve excellence, don’t just avoid errors: be wary of slipping into “box ticking mode”. Our processes are there to make it easier for us to be excellent, but we shouldn’t be a servant to them
  5. Don’t reinvent the wheel: where possible leverage work that’s been done already (e.g. reusing Cofruition’s company branding for the branding of Better Business Radar).

Company Culture of writing SOPs

The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at Cofruition typically exist as either “how to” documents (i.e. reference information) or “workflows” (i.e. when there are repeatable steps to take). These mostly live in Process.st.

You can read our TO DO: How to write good SOPs document ‣ (very meta, I know)

1. SOPs raise the bar

By recognising the repeatable elements of our work we are able to refine them over time and excel in ways that others aren’t able to. This high quality is what sets us apart from others and means we can delight our clients with low effort

2. SOPs give us more headspace

Each one of us has limited bandwidth. We want to use our brainpower on creative aspects of delighting our clients and colleagues, rather than trying to remember everything to do each time
