Your Quick Guide to Aggressive, Mission-Driven Reading
Step 1: Skim for Missions
Scan the text:
- Read the title and headers.
- Read the first sentence of each paragraph.
Ask:
- What's the main idea here?
- What's the mission of this section?
- What questions should I be asking as I read?
✅ Tip: Write 1–2 word labels next to sections as you skim ("Problem," "Examples," "Solution," etc.).
Step 2: Read Aggressively
Paragraph-by-paragraph:
- After each paragraph, pause.
- Ask: "What was this paragraph's mission?"
- Summarize the mission in your own words (one sentence max).
Example:
"What defines the problem with current system?"
✅ Tip: Stay tough. If you don't know the mission, reread—don't move on blindly.
