Introduction

Manta Network has officially launched its first zkSBT. Leveraging the existing Binance Account Bound (BAB) token, an SBT offered by Binance as proof of KYC, Manta will allow any BAB token holders to mint a corresponding, privacy-preserving zkBAB. The zkBAB marks a major new milestone in on-chain identity, offering both a level of compliance verification with on-chain privacy benefits, delivered in a decentralized manner that is controlled by the user.

The zkBAB offers a similar digital verification experience as the BAB for Binance users who have completed Identity Verification, but with an additional layer of privacy. The added privacy allows users to verify without revealing their wallet address, assets within the wallet address, or transactions made from the wallet address. With zkBABs, users are able to complete proof of Binance identity verification in web3 without revealing any information.

Getting Started

Minting your zkBAB is simple, and takes only three steps (detailed in the instructions below):

1. First, you need to connect your MetaMask wallet, which is used to verify your ownership of the BAB, and your Manta Wallet, which is where your minted zkBAB will appear.
2. Optionally, you can obtain free $KMA to mint your zkBAB.
3. Once you have completed step 1 and optional step 2, just click mint!

Requirements

To get started minting your zkBAB, you will need three things:

1. A MetaMask wallet connected to BNB Chain to obtain and hold your BAB, if you do not have a BAB already.
2. A BAB provided by Binance after you have completed Identity Verification. If you do not have a BAB yet, you can follow the instructions here to mint a BAB. To mint a BAB, you must have completed KYC verification on Binance.
3. The Manta Wallet, which is a browser extension that enables you to access all of the ZK-enabling features brought to you by the fastest ZK L1, Manta Network. To download the extension, visit the Chrome Web Store.

Once you have a BAB connected with a BNB Chain wallet on MetaMask, and the Manta Wallet downloaded, you are able to move onto the next steps below, where you can go to Manta Network’s NFT Private Offering (NPO) Platform to connect and mint your zkBAB.

Step 1: Connecting MetaMask & Manta Wallet

1. First, connect your MetaMask to the NPO platform page by clicking the Connect MetaMask button under the zkBAB mint.

<aside> ⚠️ Make sure you connect to the wallet that contains your Binance Account Bound Token (BAB). If you connect to the wrong MetaMask wallet, you are unable to proceed. You can switch wallets after connecting to MetaMask.

1. After successfully connecting to MetaMask, you will see a notification that says BAB Token Detected. If you do not see this, you’re connected to the wrong address, and you should switch to the address that contains your BAB token.
2. Next you should connect to the Manta Wallet by clicking on the Connect to Manta Wallet button.

<aside> ⚠️ Manta Wallet is currently in Beta with limited functionality. Users are not currently able to transact cryptocurrencies with Manta Wallet. Users can mint their zkBABs with Manta Wallet.
