Congratulations, you found a mini rubber band loom! These were designed and 3D printed at the MSU Libraries Makerspace. This design is based on the Happy Loom, from the company, Rainbow Loom. It’s been modified to fit adult hands a bit better… or at least we think so!

2. Learn to use a happy loom to make a fishtail bracelet

Check out a brief TikTok video with a basic tutorial for the Happy Loom from official_rainbowloom

Here’s a quick youtube video that shows you the process a little bit slower.

But guess what? You don’t even need a fancy happy loom, you can make the same bracelet using just your own hands.

That video also shows a way to join the bracelet ends without a clip!

3. How I made the 3D printed loom

I 3D modeled the Happy Loom based on a quick top down snapshot of one we got from a kit. In Autodesk Fusion, I traced the profile and took a few creative liberties to modify the design for 3D printing.

What do you notice is different in this design compared to the ones in the videos above?

Why do you think those changes were made?

Next I 3D printed the design on one of the Makerspace 3D printers. This model is a very quick print taking only 20 minutes to print and using just 6 grams!
