- Flag spins counterclockwise behind your head, reaching behind you almost like you’re scratching your back
- Flag is now pointing up but the pole is still behind your back, this will feel pretty awkward. You will be also switching your right hand from thumbs up to thumbs down as the flag reaches this point. Again, kinda awkward.
- The silk now spins counterclockwise in front of you
- Release flag as it reaches vertical
- Pointing down while spinning in the air
- Catch flag pointing up, thumbs down* or up
- Flag spins counterclockwise once more in front of you
- Flag returned to ready position
*this is a technique that is developed throughout practice, catching flags vertically while your hand looks like this (thumbs down technically, cause that’s how it’ll end) can be difficult for beginners. It’s often that beginners will catch the flag thumbs up, do an extra spin (7), and adjust your right hand before ending.
