Official bio: Miguel is passionate about helping event professionals working online and offline to develop digital communication and content strategies. He is no stranger to the world of business events and he speaks, consults, and trains on topics around communication, content, and event technology.
Since 2005 Miguel has held multiple industry roles, starting in his native Portugal, then spending 10 years in the UK and US, and currently based in Denmark. He played a key role in developing the IMEX Group’s digital content and social media presence from 2011 to 2017, and since then Miguel has worked independently on digital communication strategies for business events. focused organizations.
Miguel holds a master's degree in Conference and Events Management from the University of Westminster and is certified as a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and a Digital Event Strategist (DES). He sits on the International Board of Directors of Meeting Professionals International and is past-Chair of Events Industry Council’s Industry Insights Committee.

Miguel is the Editor-in-Chief of EventMB, the largest online resource for the event industry. He lives and breathes the event tech sector and is deeply engaged in the global online community of event professionals.
Miguel has been involved in the events industry since 2005. He started in his native Portugal before moving to the UK to obtain a masters degree in Conference and Events Management from the University of Westminster. Miguel worked as a planner for SYNAXIS Meetings & Events, producing events in Europe and the US, and later joined the IMEX Group focusing on social media and community management for the company and helping to deliver both the IMEX and IMEX America trade shows.
Prior to joining EventMB, Miguel ran his own company, miguelseven.com, focused on digital content strategy and later, virtual events. He holds the designation of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Digital Event Strategist (DES). Miguel sits on the International Board of Directors of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and is past-Chair of the Events Industry Council’s (EIC) Industry Insights Committee.
