This week, we talked to Jill, the head of ATLAS, as well as a lawyer, for our sound use capabilities and verifying if our way of creation is legal.
She gave us great advice and although she couldn’t give legal advice, she told us that she thought the generative art differentiated itself enough from the music to not be associated with it. We got the go-ahead from her and her feedback was great. She also gave us general feedback about the project that we’ll take into account
Additionally we talked with David Schaal, who runs a sound class we’ve taken, and talked about the copyright issues along with different ways to incorporate sound with generative art. He was helpful to brainstorm ideas and gave us helpful resources that we’ll reference for APIs down the line.
