Our History

<aside> ⛳ Kingswell Glen Golf Club is a semi-private course tucked away in the beautiful town of Petrolia, Ontario. It originally opened as Glenview Golf Club in 1895 — a six-hole course that was inspired by St. Anne’s in Scotland, and founded by Charlotte & Jake Englehart for their fellow oil barons, the rich, and the famous.

In the early days (when Petrolia was “dry”) the golf course’s clubhouse was a popular spot...and we can't wait to bring that legacy back to life.

The original clubhouse was built on Queen Street, but was torn down in 1965 because it had become too noisy for neighbours. But if you stop by the present day clubhouse, you’ll still find a photo of its former glory, thanks to a gracious donation from Charlie Fairbank, another local oil legend.

Eventually, another clubhouse and curling rink were built, and in 2001 the course expanded to its current 18 hole layout -- with the new nine being built within the Glenview Estates subdivision. The curling rink has now been converted into an indoor sports complex and golf academy, and if you’re curious to see what it looks like, just ask us! We will happily give you a tour.

The history of this course is as rich as the community it’s a part of: from Glenview Golf Club to Glenview Golf and Curling Club, to Heritage Heights Golf Club, and now…Kingswell Glen Golf Club! **

Our Vision

Kingswell Glen is more than just a golf course.

Our Philosophy

Golf isn't just about the birdies and bogies. It’s about getting outside, moving your body, and challenging yourself. It’s about sharing laughs and drinks; making memories and friends.

Golf is about commitment and improving your game — it teaches you that you always have another chance to do better.

Our Mission

At Kingswell Glen we are committed to providing an experience that goes beyond golf. We want to create a space that nurtures meaningful connections, supports the local community, and brings people together to have some (much-needed) fun in the beautiful outdoors.

Our Vision

We want to disrupt the industry status quo because we don’t want to be like the other golf clubs.

We want Kingswell Glen to be known as a friendly, welcoming club that provides an exceptional game of golf and social experience for the whole family, while building a sustainable and beautiful course that integrates with the natural landscape of our beautiful town.

Sustainability Practices

Golf isn’t just about the game.

It’s also about getting outside to enjoy the natural beauty we’re lucky enough to be surrounded with.

Just like Jake & Charlotte Englehart fell in love with the golf courses in Scotland and wanted to bring that magic home, we want to create a space that inspires and helps people fall in love with the beauty Petrolia has to offer.

Because of that, Kingswell Glen is committed to developing + implementing effective strategies to improve the environmental sustainability of our golf course, and the local community.

<aside> ⛳ We want to go the extra kilometer to ensure that what we’re building with this golf course will support the ecosystem it exists in, which is why there is a sustainability fee of $35 (tax free) for each member.
