their name can be melya— meaning "plumeria" (flowers meaning birth, love and new beginnings)
so like mel is a regular human commoner that climbed up the social status and now she’s an important knight that serves an immortal queen. she’s very genuine, kind, and generous— she has a nice relationship with the town’s civilians and poor commoners, they’re like family to her and she likes to share food to a lot of civilians. she has a tragic story where she always dies but keeps reincarnating and losing her memories - since the queen is immortal, she devastatingly yearns for her lover in every lifetime.

freya who is a (immortal) goddess, is now ruling as a queen(?) She fell in-love with a knight named Mel who is a mortal. she's basically forever stuck finding her! her lore is still in works, BUT we had ideas of her being a god of love, who only came down to bring people happiness, as there was a devastating war. the people got greedy and made her queen, which was never her intention, there she met mel for the first time! she was the only one who truly showed her kindness and such.
mel and freya had this thing where they had a notebook, one where they would write to each other. but one day mel never comes back and only hears news from her other knights that she sadly passed/killed during war.

Nothing is concrete.
freya seeing mel hand food to the other commoners and having a good relationship with them— she feels a good sense of belonging in the community but is a bit closed off with the other knights
freya doing the knights recognition or honor thing on mel where the royal person taps a sword on both sides of the knight (who is kneeling down)
both of them at a rose garden in the back of the castle
freya touching mel’s hair after mel cut it (probably from battle)
mel coming back to the castle from the battles or even maybe just training at the knight quarters and there’s some bruise on her and freya touches them
