• Dayna identifies as nonbinary, they/them pronouns

  • just got covid booster, reg form had only two gender options and a mandatory column, there was no prefer not to answer question
  • another doc suggested a urine sample to prove not pregnant before taking xray even tho they said there is no way they are pregnant
  • was grilled by the xray technician, Dayna eventually told they identifies as trans but they felt forced to do that. he changed their gender to "Gender unknown"
  • Patient intake forms should provide more gender options or atleast a prefer not to answer question just to avoid any awkward questions
  • if a doc one on one, they dont feel they will disclose their gender unless it has a direct relation to the problem she is facing
  • They have never had experiences being denied treatment and havent undergone any gender-affirming treatments just yet. they dont do mental health and therapy care which many other members of the gender expansive community participate in
  • first two covid hosps were at a pop up tent, both times using restrooms were gender binary which was uncomfortable.
  • Alot of the language on things like forms or name labels need to be updated to include pronouns, birth certificates (parent instead of mother and father) use more gender-neutral forms.
  • since they lives in rural area, they doesnt have many options on what kinda hospitals they can go to, but ideally they would look up if the hospital is more inclusive and if these options are covered under their health insurance.

  • you need to get permission from a doctor or judge to legally change ur gender on an id. This is currently being revised by new york state. Psychologist needs to tell that ur facing gender dysmorphia for the insurance company to actually sponser treatment
  • ur state id may not agree with gender in passport which can cause issues. So now parents have the option to not choose gender for the child for their birth certificate
  • they have anxiety going to doc and part f it is because of their identity and how it is perceived in these situations.
  • they wonder what effect it would have on the medical community when ppl are going to be selecting x gender label on their state ids and if this is going to cause issues when seeking out for medical help
