Meet Maryam!

Maryam Tourk is a 16-year-old junior from Wheaton, IL passionate about social justice and building community. From founding and leading an Interfaith Club and French Club at school to running her school’s Model UN team, she is all about empowering high schoolers, fighting ignorance, and cultivating community. In her free time, you might find her tutoring refugees, exploring new fashion trends, or practicing French. Everyone deserves access to resources that help them on their way to leading the life they dream of, and that’s exactly what Maryam hopes students will get out of CU Summer Camp. Maryam will be a Camper and a Counselor.

Meet Noor!

Noor Mryan is a 16-year-old junior from Hinsdale, IL. As a member of her school's Forensics Team and the Captain of her poetry team, Noor is determined to foster an inclusive community that allows for everyone's voice to be heard. When she's not trying out a new cookie recipe, or embroidering an old pair of jeans, she's likely working on her school's yearbook or volunteering at her local cat shelter. Noor believes that younger generations, now more than ever, have the ability to carve their own paths in life and explore their passions. She hopes that CU Summer Camp enriches the lives of students with those opportunities. Noor will be a Camper and a Counselor.

Meet Madison!

Madison Adams is a 17-year-old junior living in Verdigris, Oklahoma. Madison helps lead her school's Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a youth Sunday school class and basketball team, and co-founded her school's newspaper. Madison is passionate about community building and sparking ambition in everyone. When Madison is not preparing for a debate tournament or playing soccer, you can find her playing with her little sister or practicing Spanish. Madison often emphasizes self-discovery, and believes that CU Summer Camp is the perfect way for students to grow themselves in more ways than they could ever imagine! Madison will be a Camper and a Counselor.

Meet Gary!

Gary Sheng is one of the cofounders of Civics Unplugged, which is based in New York, NY. Before CU, he was a software engineer at Google. He's passionate about community building, personal development, and democracy, and will be delivering some of the Monday Bonfires for CU Summer Camp.

Meet Nick!

Nick Delis is one of the cofounders of Civics Unplugged. He has devoted his career to empowering young people through the teaching of Civics and Constitutional Law. Before CU, he was a high school teacher and administrator. He will be delivering some of the Monday Bonfires for CU Summer Camp.
