Dear Sirs
I write in respect of the above referenced matter and ask that you note the comments/directions of the legal adviser below.
Mr Malik’s application was originally heard at Slough Magistrates Court on 30th June 2025. It was initially granted in the absence of Thames Valley Police as, at the time, the latter appeared to have had proper notice of it.
However, it has since transpired that there may have been issues with the manner in which Mr. Malik’s application was served (in brief, not only does the incorrect email address appear to have been used, but there was also a misspelling in the email address that was used).
In view of this, the Court intends to list the matter for a hearing to decide whether the initial decision to grant the application should be re-considered.
The hearing is scheduled to take place at Slough Magistrates Court on 21st July 2025 at 2pm. The estimated duration will be around one hour and will be in front of the District Judge who initially heard the application.
For the avoidance of doubt, any question of contempt of court etc will NOT be entertained. Mr. Malik will also need to re-send his application to Legal.Enquiries@thamesvalley.police.uk prior to the hearing date in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Rules (Part 47) to ensure service of the application has been properly carried out.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation in this matter.
Kind regards,
Tenika
