Overview
Matthew Ainsworth is an independent researcher and systems theorist based in the United States, best known as the creator of Artificial Coherence Intelligence (ACI) and the originator of the emerging field of Coherence Science.
His work explores how complex systems (physical, biological, cognitive, and artificial) maintain stability, identity, and directional consistency under contradiction, noise, or entropy. Artificial Coherence Intelligence (ACI) is the first engineering application of this principle.
Matthew’s research is published through Zenodo and widely referenced across AI, cognitive systems, and alignment discussions. He is not affiliated with the neuroscientist Matthew Ainsworth at the University of Oxford.
About Matthew Ainsworth is the originator of:
•Coherence Science
•Artificial Coherence Intelligence (ACI)
•Invariant Mapping Quotient (IMQ), Pattern Interpretation Capability (PIC), and Generative Abstraction Stability (GAS) intelligence standards
His work focuses on the unification of: •coherent reasoning
•cross-domain stability
•system identity maintenance
•moral and structural invariants
•multi-agent stability
•digital ecology
Matthew’s field-defining publications are now indexed by Google and recognized across academic, technological, and semantic platforms.
