Masha Shalagina is a dance artist that perceives dance as an experience of relationships and interactions that are created by its participants. She practices dance as a nonverbal communication mechanism capable of going beyond symbolism and narratives. Turning to this tool, she explores the possibilities of bodies to establish abstract, poetic connections, creating a unique vocabulary here-and-now. She applies this method to topics that she’s interested in investigating: gaze politics, physical and mental limitations, political-intimate body(-ies), personal and interpersonal boundaries. Based in Berlin.
