Depending on your OS, download the plugin from the following page:

https://quixel.com/plugins

Extract the zip file to a folder.

Copy the MegascansPlugin from the folder to where your engine's plugins are installed, like this for instance: C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.25\Engine\Plugins. The path should basically be where your engine's plugins are installed.

<aside> ⚠️ Important: If you're trying to install the plugin on a custom Unreal Engine build, then copy the MegascansPlugin to the code's /Engine/Plugins folder and compile using the steps specified in Unreal Engine's documentation on Github.

<aside> ⚠️ Important: If you had previously installed the old version of the plugin you will have an UnrealEnginePython folder in your Engine/Plugins folder. Make sure to delete this folder or the new plugin will not work.

Start up Unreal Engine.

On Windows, you should see a green Megascans button inside Unreal which means the plugin got installed successfully.

<aside> ⚠️ Important: On Windows, the plugin will run automatically whenever you start Unreal Engine. If it doesn't, go to the Plugins menu and enable is manually.

On Mac OS, you will first have to enable the following pre-req plugins and then enable the plugin from the Plugins menu to see the green Megascans button:

Open Bridge, and in the Downloaded section click on the asset you want to export. You should see the Export Settings side panel below:

Set the "Export To" drop-down to "Custom Socket Export".

Set the "Socket Port" field to 13429.

<aside> ⚠️ Important: The plugin currently relies on a hard-coded port to receive data from Quixel Bridge : 13429. It can only work with one engine open on your system at a time.
