Portland

Welcome to Portland!!! My favorite little city :) here are some fun facts for ya-

• Portland, OR was named after Portland, ME! The founders of the city had a coin toss to name it either Portland or Boston and Portland won.
• There are two main (pun intended) streets in Portland in my option: Congress Street is the city centre and Commercial Street is on the water.
• A lot of Portland was filled in, the cobblestone street called Wharf Street used to be the actual wharf/waterfront! Nowadays there are problems with flooding when it rains in parts of the city due to the ocean trying to reclaim the land (shoutout global warming)
• Portland is ranked #8 in the US for most breweries per capita (fun fact the other Portland is #1).

Other food:

Seafood- the Clam Shack or Luke’s Lobster or DiMillos (restaurant on a boat very cool vibe but very $$$, they also have a lobster roll food truck in their parking lot)

• **also as a note about seafood: always ask the price if it is listed as market price, and a normal price for a lobster roll is around $35 that’s unfortunately normal… if you’re paying more than $40 you’re scamming yourself
