Congratulations on applying to medical school, future doctor! 🥼

My name is Colin Whaley, and I’m an internal medicine resident doctor at the University of Toronto, and I graduated from medical school at McMaster University in 2023. More info on my work can be found here. I made this site to support medical school applicants on their application journeys to getting accepted to medical school, to try and put a spotlight on free, time-tested resources which have helped many students in the past achieve their dream. This is an expensive process, and anything I can do to try and drive the cost down is time well spent.

These are the documents friends and I used when preparing for our medical school interviews, and I hope that they can be of use to you as well. Many applicants don't know where to start when it comes to preparing for interviews or how to structure their time, so I have made effort to summarize how we structured the sessions we had. I recommend you read over this first page and then look at the pages linked below in order. You might feel intimidated at first, and that's okay! Remember that the point of looking over these documents is to practice and become better at answering interview questions. Like all skills, it takes time!

I make no guarantees about the quality of any of the documents listed here, but I will note that I used many of them in my own preparation. As the expectations society has of physicians changes, some of the content presented may become more or less important. It is your responsibility to keep up to date on these expectations, and some suggestions on how to do so are given. All efforts have been made to properly credit the original sources. Please get in touch at www.colinwhaley.com with concerns, suggestions or to suggest additional resources.
