This trekking discovers Marmarole Mountains (one of the wilder area on this side of the Dolomites) and Monte Antelao (called the King of the Dolomites, its one the dolomite’s highest peak).
It’s a loop starting and ending in Auronzo di Cadore.

From Auronzo di Cadore the partecipants will start the hike. The trail leads to Rifugio Ciareido in Pian dei Buoi (a nice and wide pasture area) where to spend the night.

This will be a relaxing day. From Rifugio Ciareido the trail goes to Rifugio Chiggiato (where to sped the night) having a break for lunch at Rifugio Baion.
The hike is sorrounded by the wild Marmarole Mountains.
In the morning is possible to have an extra hike discovering old military buildings from the WW1 around Pian dei Buoi, close to Rifugio Ciareido. (8 km, +/- 400 mt elevation, 4 hours)

From Rifugio Chiggiato the way brings to Rifugio San Marco: in front of Monte Antelao (One of the highest peak of the Dolomites). This is one of the first rifugio to be built.

From Rifugio Rifugio San Marco we’ll explore one of the more wild and unknown valley in the area: San Vito valley. At first, from the rifugio the trail leads up to Forcella Grande. Here the view is amazing and it’s easy to see wild animals. From there we’ll hike down to Riserva Statale Somadida where to take a shuttle to Auronzo and end the trekking.
