General Lunch Duty Protocols
- Teachers on lunch duty should circulate throughout the lunch space.
- Avoid ‘clumping’ for more than a few minutes.
- Maintain lines of sight to the majority of the lunch area.
- While circulating, encourage students to pick up their trash, don’t wait until the last 2 minutes to ask for the trash to be picked up.
- When speaking with students, include positive communication. Lunch is an opportunity to build positive relationships.
