If your pet has gone missing, or you've found someone else's lost pet, let DoNotPay file an official report for you.

Did you know that 1 out of 3 pets become lost at some point in their lifetime and close to 10 million dogs and cats are lost or stolen in the US every single year? To make matters worse, according to the Coalition for Reuniting Pets and Families, less than 23% of lost pets are reunited with their owners.

Given the poor odds, as a missing pet owner or someone who finds a lost pet, it's crucial to file an official report to increase the chances of pets being reunited with their owners.

If you have lost or found a pet, the first thing you should do is report the incident to your local government. Your local government maintains a directory of missing pets, and they're in touch with neighboring animal shelters so that they're able to match lost pet reports with pets that are found and delivered to local agencies.

If you lost your pet, you should provide as much info as possible, including your contact details, when and where you last saw your pet, and a detailed description that includes the breed, fur color, size, and collar information for your pet. If you've found a pet, try to also include as much info as possible, including a photo of the animal.

While reporting to your local gov't is the only official measure you can take, you should also post local flyers in your neighborhood and post online/on social media to raise awareness.
