Install Plugins and restart the editor

Import Skeletal Mesh with the FBX import panel
- [ ] Import Skeletal Mesh
- [ ] Import Mesh
- [ ] Get a blank skeleton
- [ ] Make sure unreal imports normals instead of generating them (Important for stylized characters)
- [ ] Import morph targets
- [ ] Import animation
- [ ] Choose how you want unreal to handle materials
Check your skeletal mesh
- [ ] Confirm you have all your blend shapes. They'll appear in the skeletal mesh editor in the side bar.
- [ ] If you messed up and set your import incorrectly you can find the settings here, and click the reimport button in the tool bar to reimport the mesh.
