Objective
Answer why the SMS tab is visible again in Litify, who changed it, when, and whether people can use it to text with deprecated SMS Magic.
What was checked
- Loaded Litify live defaults and project instructions.
- Verified
LITIFY_ORG is connected.
- Queried live Tooling API for
Collapsible_Matter_Page.
- Parsed current FlexiPage metadata from live Tooling API.
- Queried Setup Audit Trail and DeployRequest records for recent Lightning Page and deployment activity.
- Queried installed packages, SMS Magic records, fields, and permission sets.
- Compared against prior RingCentral/SMS Magic handoff memory.
Findings
- The live Matter page has four top tabs matching the screenshot:
Activity, SMS, Case Status, and RingCentral.
- The
SMS tab body is smagicinteract:conversations, which is SMS Magic Converse.
- The
RingCentral tab body is c:litifyRingCentralPanelV2.
Collapsible_Matter_Page is currently unmanaged, created 2022-01-06, and last modified 2026-05-21T12:21:22Z.
- Setup Audit Trail shows the latest Matter page changes were by Nathaniel Hatfield at 2026-05-21T12:19:04Z and 2026-05-21T12:21:22Z. Earlier relevant Matter page changes were Sam Aguiar at 2026-05-19T19:16:16Z and Nathaniel Hatfield at 2026-05-19T17:38:31Z and 2026-05-19T20:26:01Z.
- Prior live status from May 14 already showed RingCentral present while SMS Magic was still not retired, so this appears to be persistence or re-deploy of an old tab rather than a clean new install.
- SMS Magic package remains installed as
SMS-Magic Converse version 1.68.41. RingCentral package remains installed as rc_sf_package 6.43.2.
- Recent SMS Magic records exist: 10 in the last 30 days, 3 in the last 7 days.
- Recent outbound attempts by named users are failing with
Channel and senderid not mapped; examples include Trent Burns on 2026-05-20, Jennifer Paxton on 2026-05-13, Nathaniel Hatfield on 2026-05-11, Nick Wilson and Kim House in April. There are also inbound/submitted records created by Litify Services.
