Project Brief:

This was a personal project to design a to-do app that fits the needs of the modern world. Lister is a to-do app that lets you add new tasks according to the priority. The app can help the user in completing all the tasks without getting unnoticed and regretting later.

Solution Thinking:

Initially, I tried to go with the push-notification for every task a person saves. But after reading about the scope of this solution and analyzing some stats it came to know that almost 50% of app users find push notifications annoying but this also meant that 50% find them useful. So, there was a 50-50 chance whether the user will look at that reminder. I put that idea on hold. Later on, after looking at the problem from a fresh perspective I realized the concept of priority can be used to solve the problem of remembering. To put in clear words a priority (High, Medium, Low) can be assigned for a task which the user thinks is relevant at that time. Then the tasks can be sorted based on this priority. I find that solution intriguing and started refining this solution.

The final solution was to prioritize the tasks, which then be stacked according to that priority but an option to sort according to the date was also provided to the user. (This solution had some shortcomings as well which I have discussed in the end). After finalizing the solution I jumped into designing mid-fidelity wireframes.

Mid Fidelity Wireframes:

The wireframes took some time because of the confusion between the position of buttons, which then eventually concluded after some UI articles.
