Description

Linthian is the capital city of Lithuis Monarchy, it is known for its various architecture varying from the first days of the Monarchy’s existence all the way until today’s modern architecture. The city’s architecture is defined by different periods that happened in Lithuis’ history, but majority of old relics before the Monarchic takeover have been either repurposed for the Monarchs or destroyed.

The current climate in Linthian reflects the political situation across Makrak. While mostly populated by danthicals, Linthian struggles to maintain economical stability after their ally, NDC, fell apart in the end of the war. Linthian is being torn by numerous different political stances that do not exclude rival groups and high criminality level.

Further Description

It is public knowledge that this city is owned by the 'last monarch' Sumuthar Sz'ui, a western Danthical whose political views are currently unknown. The city's activity stalled and for the past three years, its been a home to those who lost themselves in the war - whether this be losing their family, home, job or other important parts of their life.

As a result, the city's population is morally grey, with just as many innocents and criminals living in it. The city doesn't exclude humans from it, but with the current Terranphobic (or Anti Human) movements, humans are not safe in the city.

The Monarchy was once found as a chiefdom after the fall of 1st republic, the early chiefdom aspired to be another strong force that would be indomitable. Being a formation of a variety of different societies that broke free from enslavement brought onto the race by a rogue alien civilization, the Lithuis Chiefdom was ahead of its time in culture and technology. At the time, the capital was not Lithuis, but a city far away, located near the ruins of 1st Republic’s capital city. 300 years after its existence, a religious group took the chief down and claimed the chiefdom as their own, in 875BHA [before human arrival], the Lithuis Chiefdom was then known as the Valuthist land of Lithuis, or for short, the Lithuis Monarchy. Lithuis only came to its existence as a capital city after the monarchs took over the Abberachian Republic and the new capital was then decided.

Linthian once served as a stronghold for Monarchic armies after the arrival of humanity. The city was a safe haven due to its advantageous location. Important meetings were held in this city during the first war between humans and danthicals, the city was completely inaccessible to the invasive race for at least a hundred of years before the following Monarch decided otherwise. Linthian's cultural value is sacred to the danthical race, as not only does it serve as a reminder of their history that's shown through the various buildings, statues, artworks, memorials and soon, it also contains technological value in underground structures that confirm many events that have reflected in many religions of Danthicals. Inner Streets of Linthian: Now influenced by human technology, the inner streets of Linthian are made up of human structures, shops, just as much as danthical housing. Tall structures made for officials and companies tower over much smaller houses varying in shapes and materials. Relics of the past remain in the forms of historical buildings adapted to the modern times; the majority of these buildings retain the classic look of danthical architecture that uses unique shapes, symbols and mottos on profiles of each house that portray the religious influence the Monarchs have left behind on the society. Unique monuments and underground societies are not uncommon and are observed much more often than in human societies. To mimic forested environments in busier cities, highest points of the city that are close to one another are connected with a variety of thin, endurant fabrics that either block out sunlight entirely, or make the light change color, painting each region with a different atmosphere.

The urban layout of the inner streets is almost sector based, with each sector being dedicated to different culture - similar to the largest cities of humanity, a variety of different beliefs can be seen across each sector. These beliefs sprout from different danthical societies that have moved to Linthian after the 1st republic’s fall, but unlike for other civilizations, these different minorities remain respectful to one another before the change of political climate in the Lithuis Monarchy.
