Overview

This PRD describes the requirements for adding a "Recommended Events" section on LinkedIn. This reduces time and makes events more discoverable, helping organizers reach their target audience.

  1. Enable job seekers to discover relevant events and reach their target company events.
  2. Enable organizers and advertisers to reach their target audience.
  3. Enable curious users to discover ongoing events that may interest them.
  4. Enable recruiting companies to receive notifications of potential candidate recruits.

Problem definition

Objective

The purpose of this PRD is to outline the requirements for adding a "Recommended Events" section on LinkedIn.

Context

  1. Currently, discovery for LinkedIn Events is minimal, and LinkedIn wants to enhance it.
  2. Upon taking a user survey, they gave the reason that discovering events related to their interests is difficult and very time-consuming unless someone from a connection shares on their feed or they receive a notification when their connection is attending such an event. If they find it through a search, it becomes a major challenging and time-consuming event.

Hence, we plan to launch the share feature on LinkedIn for event recommendation and discovery, to reach target users and allow them to discover useful events.
