In April 2021, we've launched subscriptions as part of Lifeline version 1.4. This page hopes to answer all your questions. If it doesn't, let us know.
We've been working on Lifeline on weekends and early mornings literally for years to get it to its current incarnation. If we keep going at this speed, we'll never be able to fulfill the potential we believe it has. For us, subscriptions are not extortion for a static tool but a path to spend more and more time on Lifeline, accelerating its development.
We'll continue to have a free version on the macOS App Store, but it will include locked features available only to Lifeline Pro subscribers.
Subscribing is easy: choose Upgrade from the taskbar dropdown menu in the free version, then select Buy.
At launch, we'll offer subscription tiers and pricing as per the below table.
Pricing tiers and regions
If you're on the free plan, you can start a 14-day free trial simply by going to Preferences > Upgrade and choosing the "Start 14-day free trial" button. After 14 days, Apple will charge the credit card it has on file for you.
You can end your free trial or downgrade your subscription by choosing "End free trial" or "Downgrade" in the "Account" section of Lifeline's "Preferences." Alternatively, you can do this directly in Apple's subscription overview. This screen is also the right place to check your subscription status if you're unsure about it.
You can find Apple's subscription overview under System Preferences > Apple ID > Manage... (The button is next to the text "Subscriptions:"). The below video shows you where to find this option.

If you were an active user before April 1st, 2021, and don't want to subscribe, you can keep using Lifeline 1.3.3. This version includes most of the paid features listed below (in their March 2021 iterations).
Already upgraded to version 1.4 but want to revert to 1.3.3? Send us a mail that includes a screenshot of your Lifeline history from before April 1st, 2021, and we'll send you a copy of Lifeline 1.3.3. 🤝
