In order to allow the community to go wild with new ideas and explore, while keeping things headed in an aligned creative direction, I’m setting various elements to different “levels” of canon, so that people can mod and mix their Omesa however they like and still contribute to the community, knowing where their changes “fit”.

Level 0: Publishing Canon

These are the things that are not only core to the game working, but also the most tested and understood aspects. If we ever release our own SRD, this stuff would need to be in it. This stuff is slim and will be used rarely unless we put out a published book ot other large scale project.

Level 1: Core Canon

These are the elements of the game that people enjoy the most, making it feel like Bullets and Brimstone. Removing or changing these elements should, in theory, make the game feel entirely different. These might not be in their final playtest form, however, and are subject to change. However, if they did change, it would be a big topic of discussion!

Level 2: Dev Canon

These are the elements of the game that are under development. These could change greatly over the course of the project, but are intended as potential discussions to be brought up to level 1. Likely to be playtested soon if it is not already.

Level 3: Experimental Canon

These are ideas and elements that either go against some of the canon above, aren’t being considered for advancement at all, or are just for fun.
